Where Carnaval meets Cabaret : Hot Pink Feathers performs World Cabaret Showgirl dance. The Feathers are veteran performers of cabarets, clubs, concerts,
carnavals and corporate events, from the intimate to the grand. Click here
to see their show, venue and client history. A little sugar and a lot
of spice, their colorful, latin-flavored bump 'n' grind has made them "leaders
on the scantily clad front" according to Theatre Bay Area.
The Feathers were founded in 2000 by award-winning dancer and choreographer
Kelly "Kellita" Garton. Click here
to read how Kellita found burlesque in an article she wrote for an online
world dance magazine, Root. In addition to providing artistic direction to
Hot Pink Feathers, Kellita delights audiences with her array of captivating
solo acts. Choose Kellita: in her Brazilian Carnaval solo; her retro latin
showgirl number; her samba lounge shimmy shake; or in one of her more classic
burlesque pieces: her feathery tribute to Night Train, her alluring Gyspy
act, her sizzling Jungle number, or her humorous Bunny act (with option of
Kellita jumping out of a life-size gift box!).
Kellita was a member of Rococo Risque Cabaret, awarded Best Theater Ensemble
by SF Weekly 2005. She has ventured a la carte to Las Vegas, Hollywood, Seattle,
Denver, Anchorage, NYC, Costa Rica and Honduras, leaving glitter and grins
in her wake. Kellita was named Little Miss Aftershock for her outstanding
shimmy-shake at the Miss Exotic World Contest and earned a nod to her main
instrument of bump 'n' grind at the New York Burlesque Festival with a Golden
Pastie for Best Derriere.
You may have seen Kellita on Fox News leading a Conga Line in San Francisco's
Union Square to kick off National Dance Week in April 2007. You also may have
spotted her as MC of the Carnaval San Francisco King & Queen Contest along
side Feather Kerri in March '07. KRON 4 interviewed Kellita on Carnaval morning
in May '07. She also appears in KRON's documentary of SF's nightlife, "Sex
& The City," and ABC and CBS spots on the Grand Re-Opening of the Condor.
She is the debut act in the burlesque stag film "Broad Daylight" by John Michael
McCarthy, and was interviewed and performed live on webcast through WFMU.
